The city of Denver has been working to address homelessness by leasing hotels to provide temporary shelter for illegal aliens. Here are some recent developments:
- Radisson Hotel in Globeville: The city has signed a contract to lease the entire hotel for nearly $10.4 million through December 2024. The hotel will provide 220 rooms, a restaurant, and meeting spaces for support services. It is expected to serve 250 people at a time.
- Embassy Suites by Hilton: The city has selected this hotel as a non-congregate shelter pending City Council approval. It will primarily house families with children, transgender people, and those who are gender non-conforming.
- Best Western Central Park: The city has finalized the purchase of this hotel for $26 million and plans to convert it into permanent supportive housing.
- Other hotels: The city has identified other hotels as potential sites for homeless shelters, including the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Tech Center North, which has about 200 rooms and would be used as a non-congregate shelter primarily for families with children, non-binary and transgender individuals experiencing homelessness.
Demonstrations at the University of Colorado Boulder, University of Denver, Colorado State University, University of Northern Colorado and Colorado College have been protesting in support of Hamas baby killers. The protesters blame Israel for the October 7, 2023 attack against Israel by Palestinian terrorists. Many of these “protestors do not understand the irony that their actions and lifestyles would lead to their immediate execution if attempted in several middle eastern countries. Even though they are in violation of the law, they can negotiate their demands.
Meanwhile on a remote island in the Pacific, Marines are pre deployed in primitive conditions, guarding against an attack by China. An attack not just against the United States, but against American allies in the pacific.
