A Colorado State Grand Jury indicted seven people on May 21, 2026, for running a two-year drug trafficking operation out of Basalt that packaged narcotics as high-end chocolates and nasal sprays and distributed them to customers nationwide.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced the indictment Friday in conjunction with the 5th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. The operation, dubbed the “Molly Wonka” investigation by law enforcement, ran from at least February 2024 through April 2026 out of a facility in Basalt.
The organization produced and sold products under brand names “Renaissance” and “Alpen Glow.” Chocolate bars marketed as “Socialistas,” “Ritualistas,” and “Heart Openers” were laced with MDMA, Ketamine, MDA, and 2C-B. A nasal spray product sold under the Alpen Glow name contained Ketamine. Packaging was designed to avoid law enforcement detection, according to CBI Director Armando Saldate.
The seven defendants face 48 counts including drug trafficking, manufacturing, conspiracy, and special offender charges. John Parker Roe, identified as the organization’s leader and principal of Genesis Limited Consulting, LLC, and Erica Collins, identified as executive assistant and owner of Lume Lume Lume LLC, also face money laundering, tax evasion, filing a false return, attempt to influence a public servant, and child abuse charges. Investigators determined Roe derived more than 50 percent of his income from the operation. Collins allegedly used her business to conceal funds as consulting or wellness services.
The remaining five defendants are Timothy Caraboolad, identified as a DTO leader and financial partner in the Alpen Glow product line; Pola Oginski, head of production; Morgan Davis, production and order fulfillment; Gregory Shaw, assistant and distributor; and Frank Akers, distribution.
The multi-year investigation involved the DEA, Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, Aspen Police, and Basalt Police. Investigators conducted multiple undercover buys, executed court-authorized search warrants, and conducted physical surveillance of the Basalt facility. The case will be prosecuted in Eagle County by the 5th Judicial District Attorney’s Office with assistance from the Colorado Attorney General’s Office.
Heidi McCollum, District Attorney for the 5th Judicial District, stated the office is committed to prosecuting the importation, manufacture, and distribution of illicit substances in the community.
All seven defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
