My name is Veronica Nicholson, and I’m proud to call Custer County home. I owned and operated a successful cooling tower business with my late husband and have a Business Degree. I’m running for Custer County Commissioner District 3 because I believe my degree and experience as a job creator, along with my commitment to this area and its values, will allow me to be an effective leader on the commission. As a mother of two sons who have honorably served in the armed forces, supporting our troops, law enforcement, and upholding Constitutional rights like the Second Amendment is personal for me. If elected, I promise to be a full-time, working commissioner who is a watchdog over every taxpayer dollar. I’ll bring a spirit of customer service to county government that is sorely lacking. As your County Commissioner, promoting responsible economic growth that allows our local businesses to thrive will be among my top priorities. But I will ensure that growth never comes at the expense of our cherished agricultural heritage and rural way of life that makes our community so special. I am committed to upholding the integrity of our elections. We must have voting processes and systems we can all trust without question, where every legal vote is counted in a secure, transparent, and verifiable manner. Public confidence in our democracy is simply non-negotiable.
