January 6 marked the fourth anniversary of the non-Insurrection at the US Capital Building. During the mostly peaceful protesting, US Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed by Capital Police officer Michael Byrd while she was climbing through a broken window in a barricaded door. The left celebrated this killing, saying it was well justified. The family settled with the US government for $5 million for this unlawful killing.
On January 8, 2026, Federal Officer Johathan Ross shot and killed Renee Nicole Good while she attempted to run him over with her car after being given a lawful ordered to exit her vehicle while her wife encourage her on and videoed it. The left including elected Democrats funded with “Riot Inc” money started protesting over this lawful shooting.
Minnesota law allows officers to use deadly force to protect themselves “from death or great bodily harm” that “is reasonably likely to occur”. Federal law permits deadly force when an officer has probable cause to believe a person poses immediate threat of death or serious harm. A vehicle driving towards an officer fits this description.
