Colorado is screaming it has not got enough water, considering the Colorado River Basin program, giving water to 7 states, and approx 29 native groups. Rather than increase reservoirs, we complain. The extraordinary amount of energy and water needed to supply a high intensity data center, this should sound Alarms as to future planning.
The state of Colorado has already created a totally FALSE “Clean Energy” plan, ignoring science, and worse reliance on the false “Green” policies, including that CO2 is a pollutant, when it is life and growth.
- High-Intensity Development:40% of the nation’s planned and existing data centers are in regions with “high” or “extremely high” water scarcity, including the Southwest.
- Specific Numbers:Research indicates 24 of the largest, hyperscale-type centers and 379 smaller ones were identified in the four states (AZ, CO, NV, UT) heavily involved in Colorado River allocation negotiations as of mid-2025.
- Arizona Hotspot:In the Phoenix area, massive, new, water-cooled AI data centers are rapidly expanding, with one developer, Tract, building a 2,000-acre complex in Buckeye.
- Colorado Growth:Colorado has over 60 data centers, with many, particularly in the Front Range, being retrofitted or built for AI workloads.
- Utah Development:Novva is building a 100-acre data center in West Jordan, joining 29 existing data centers in the Salt Lake City metro area.
While this bill gives a ton of proposals for compliance, billing, safety, supposed annual assessments, and much more, it is basically setting up the future to increase the AI data Centers in our State. When we are already RATIONING electricity, water wars, and increasing electric bills, while destroying natural gas supply, coal plants, oil companies being shut out, we are in a sickening spiral of DOOM and DANGER! Now lets add the unsustainable, unaffordable, “NOT CLEAN” and unreliable Renewables, and you have a COMPLETE RECIPE FOR DISASTER.
JUST WHO IS REALLY GOING TO PAY FOR THIS? WE ARE?
WHY ARE WE RUSHING SO MANY DATA CENTERS, AND WHAT WILL THEY BE DOING TO OUR PRIVACY, OUR LIVES, AND PS: ONCE BUILT, MINIMUM TO ZIP JOBS WILL BE CREATED. LEGISLATE YOUR DEMISE WHY DON’T YOU? TRILLIONS TO BE MADE BY MANY COMPANIES JUST NOT WE THE PEOPLE. SELL OUR DATA, USE OUR DATA, AND WE GET THE BOWHEEKA!
OH AND WAIT FOR IT, YOU HAVE THE AUDICITY TO ADD THE SAFETY CLAUSE BECAUSE WE, THE PEOPLE DON’T DESERVE TO VOTE ON SOMETHING THAT COULD DESTROY OUR COMMUNITIES, AND OUR VERY HUMANITY? HAVE YOU ALL GONE CRAZY?
PS: AI DOES NOT EVEN ALWAYS GET IT RIGHT TO JUST PROPERLY RECORD A TV SHOW! BUT HEY LET’S EMBRACE IT ON A CHANCE? DID ANY OF YOU WATCH WALEYE THE LITTLE MOVIE?
